Chenin Blanc 2018

Guillaume Noire is one of the rising stars of the natural winemaking in Loire valley. Always looking for the expression of the terroir and experementing, Guillaume makes excellent, pure and sincere wines. Guillaume settled in Rablay-sur-Layon where he found a new house in the middle of the picturesque village. He purchased a few acres of organically cultivated vineyards situated between Champ-sur-Layon and Rablay. With help of the Ménard family (Winery des Sablonnettes) Guillaume realize his first harvest and vinification in 2017. Guillaume describes his winemaking philosophy as a peasant approach based on respect for nature. In the winery, exist some principles which Guillaume relies on: organically grown grapes, healthy harvest, soft pressing, minimal racking, extended maceration for the red wines.Grapes is a main factor - treated without herbicides and pesticides, then vinified without additions of other compounds, with the exception of SO2, in minimal doses if necessary only.

Loire is one of the biggest regions in Northern France. This beautiful valley that stretches more than 300 km in length has been the inspiration of poetry and art throughout the ages. The dominant grapes are different in each part of Loire, and this is the only region in France that produces equally good white, red, rose, dessert and sparkling wines.
