Producer

The popular winery Pazo de Señoráns, sometimes referred to on the Internet as “damn stylish”, is today considered the best in Galicia. It is located in the village of Vilanovinha, located in the province of Pontevedra in the municipality of Meisa. The location has helped both the winery and the winemakers - it is in the highest quality area of the Rías Baixas wine region. The vines grow here at a relatively low altitude, close to the sea, so the soil contains a large amount of minerals that make up the sand. Vinification takes place in stainless steel vats and the wine is bottled early. The result is a wine that is characterized by an excellent harmony of aroma, pronounced notes of late apples and fennel, as well as a very slight hint of verbena flowers.

Rias Baixas is a wine region of Galicia in northwestern Spain, located along the Atlantic coast. Although the production area is relatively new (DO status was obtained in 1988), Rias Baixas has grown rapidly thanks to the efforts of many enterprising growers who use modern wine-making techniques to display the region's traditional Albarino grape variety. It is not surprising that the Atlantic Ocean has a great influence on the local climate. The average rainfall here is very high, sometimes above 1800 mm per year, and the cool climate is complemented by fog from the sea. Thanks to the natural conditions in Rias Baixas, Albarino is so popular - the cooling effect of the ocean helps the grapes maintain a refreshing acidity, which is very important for white wines. Local granite soils contribute to the "mineral" style of white wines. The best examples from this region have an intense aroma and a long, pleasant floral finish.

Galicia is located in the northwestern part of the Iberian Peninsula and is surrounded on both sides by the Atlantic Ocean. Winemaking in Galicia is a long tradition brought to this region by the ancient Romans, and in the Middle Ages monks continued to make wine. Today Galicia is best known for its Rias Baixas wines - fresh and aromatic whites made mainly from Albarino grapes. The coast of Galicia is washed by the waves and winds of the Atlantic Ocean, and steep cliffs alternate with coastal coves known as the rias. This region is often called the "green corner" of Spain and the "land of two thousand rivers". The cool and humid wind blowing from the Atlantic Ocean makes Galicia one of the wettest places in the country. In coastal areas, precipitation is more than 1300 mm per year. Fortunately, Galicia receives a lot of sunshine (on average over 2000 hours of sunshine per year), thanks to which the grapes ripen to the maximum.
