Shirataki Junmai “Classic Red” is a smooth, balanced sake crafted in the heart of Japan’s Niigata Prefecture, a region renowned for its clean mountain water and elegant sake style. Brewed from domestically grown rice polished to 60%, this Junmai sake reflects a classic, food-friendly profile with a dry, umami-rich character and soft texture. Designed for everyday enjoyment, it’s a sake that delivers both approachability and depth, making it ideal for newcomers and connoisseurs alike.

Tasting notes

Aromas of steamed rice, toasted nuts, and a hint of earthy mushroom. On the palate, this sake is dry and savory, with a rounded texture and notes of rice bran, minerals, and a subtle umami finish. Very clean and refreshing, with medium body and moderate acidity.

Pairing

An excellent match for grilled fish, teriyaki dishes, miso soup, or vegetable tempura. Also pairs well with cheese, charcuterie, and even roasted poultry. Best served slightly chilled or gently warmed, depending on the season.
