About
Meinklang “Weisser Mulatschak” 2024 is a dry natural orange wine (Pet Nat) from the Burgenland region, near Lake Neusiedl in Austria. It is a biodynamically and organically produced cuvée made from Welschriesling, Pinot Gris, and Traminer. The wine is spontaneously fermented on the skins, matured for around four months on the fine lees in stainless steel tanks, and bottled unfiltered and vegan-friendly.
Tasting notes
On the nose, it presents a fragrant and floral bouquet of camomile, elderflower, lily‑of‑the‑valley, alongside ripe apricot, pear, and subtle notes of pickled apple. The palate is precise, piquant, and refreshingly stimulating, with delicate natural carbonation that enhances its energetic liveliness, balanced by the low 11.5% alcohol.
Pairing
This vibrant wine is a natural match for light summer dishes, fresh goat cheeses, and purist vegetable preparations. It also pairs remarkably well with Asian salads or fermented foods, where its acidity and fizz provide a refreshing counterpoint.
