SKU: FRCHORBSPCH175019 Category:
Pinot Meunier | Champagne | France | Sparkling Wine | Francis Orban | 2019 | 0,75 L | 12,5 %
About
“Les Hauts-Beugnets” 2019 is a single-parcel Blanc de Noirs Champagne, crafted exclusively from Pinot Meunier grown in the Marne Valley. With its Extra-Brut dosage, this cuvée highlights purity, mineral tension, and the expressive strength of the 2019 vintage. A precise, terroir-driven Champagne with elegance and depth.
Tasting notes

Bright golden hue with fine, persistent mousse. Aromas of ripe pear, red apple, wild berries, and subtle notes of brioche and toasted almonds. The palate is structured and vibrant, with crisp acidity, orchard fruit layers, delicate spice, and chalky minerality. Long, dry, and elegant finish.

Pairing

Pairs beautifully with roasted duck, poultry, mushroom risotto, aged cheeses, and refined seafood such as scallops, lobster, or grilled prawns. Its vinous structure also complements charcuterie and truffle-based dishes, making it an excellent gastronomic Champagne.

Francis Orban is a family grower based in Leuvrigny, in the heart of the Vallée de la Marne. Specializing in Pinot Meunier, the Orban family cultivates their vineyards with great care, emphasizing low yields and careful parcel selection. Their Champagnes are known for their authenticity, freshness, and clear expression of Meunier’s character.
Pinot Meunier varietal red wine is often lighter in color than Pinot Noir, but its acidity are little bit higher. It can taste of ripe blueberries, candys, sometimes with light smoky hints. Mostly, this grape is used for sparkling wine production.
The Champagne region combines specific climate, soil, and topography conditions that form a unique terroir currently used by approx. 15 000 vine-growers and 300 wine houses. The region has 4 sub-regions - Montagne de Reims, Côte des Blancs, Vallée de la Marne, and Côte des Bar. Each provides customers with a different style of sparkling wine. The dominant grapes are Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier which are mainly used in Montagne de Reims and Vallée de la Marne, while Chardonnay shows excellent results in Côte des Blancs. The region is even more appealing because of the so-called "Growe's Champagne" wines, the production of which is overseen by one family from start to finish - they grow and press grapes, make wine, and bottle it in the territory of one wine house. This gives the wine a true charm, aura, and unique flavor.
