About
Cupertinum Copertino DOC "75" Riserva 2015 is a dry red wine crafted primarily from traditional Puglia varieties such as Negroamaro and Malvasia Nera, originating from the historic Copertino appellation in Southern Italy. Aged to perfection as a Riserva, it reflects the character of the region’s warm Mediterranean climate and distinctive terroir. This wine embodies the heritage of the Cupertinum cooperative winery, showcasing depth, elegance, and excellent aging potential.
Producer
The territory of Copertino is located in the middle of the Salento peninsula, on the hot land of Puglia, where the vine and centuries-old olive trees alternate with harmony. In 1935 thirty-six grape growers founded the Copertino Cooperative Winery, with the plan to cooperate and work directly with the treatment of their grapes, production and trading of the wine. Today, there are three hundred honourable members who give their harvested grapes constantly aiming to improve the final product.
Tasting notes
The bouquet reveals rich aromas of dark cherries, blackberries, dried figs, and subtle floral notes. On the palate, it offers full-bodied flavors of plum, blackcurrant, cocoa, and a hint of Mediterranean herbs. Velvety tannins and a long, savory finish highlight its maturity and structure.
Pairing
This bold red wine is a perfect match with grilled or roasted meats, game, and hearty stews. It also complements aged cheeses and richly seasoned Italian dishes.

Negro Amaro
Negroamaro is a dark-skinned grape variety famous for its intensive ruby color, full and soft tannins and dark berry bouquet. It is gently aromatic and can produce very complex wines with distinctive warm tones of spices, chokolate and coffe.
This wonderful land is rich with olive trees and wine. However for a long time the Puglia region wines had a notoriety of being "flat" and highly alcoholic. Local winemakers were able to overcome this situation as the wine and become more diverse.
