“The wine displays intense, pure aromas of citrus, butter, peach, and toasted bread. On the palate, it is smooth and full-bodied, with notes of citrus and peach. The finish is long and rounded.” — Ronalds Pētersons, Sommelier at Noble Wine

Rocche dei Manzoni “L’Angelica” Langhe Chardonnay DOC 2023 is a refined white wine from the Langhe region of Piedmont. Crafted from Chardonnay grapes, it combines the elegance of the variety with the structure and minerality that define the Langhe terroir. The 2023 vintage offers freshness, concentration, and remarkable balance. Rich fruit character, subtle oak integration, and layered aromatics create a Chardonnay of depth and personality. “L’Angelica” is a sophisticated wine with excellent gastronomic appeal.

The Rocche dei Manzoni winery is located in Mancone Soprani and is part of the Monforte d'Albas commune. Created in the 18th century, it resumed its activities in 1974, when the old buildings and famous vineyards were acquired by Valentino and Jolanda Migliorini. Valentino fell head over heels in love with Piedmont on a trip to procure fine red wines for his Michelin-starred restaurant in the Emilia-Romagna region. Always following the spirit of fashion, the Francophile returned to Barolo with the skills of a winemaker, which he inherited from his father. Soon Valentino's passion for the Nebbiolo grapes surpassed his loyalty to the cuisine of the Emilia-Romagna region: he left the restaurant that brought him fame to devote his life to grapes, wine and daring experiments in wine production.

The bouquet reveals lemon zest, ripe peach, pear, and white flowers layered with vanilla, butter, and lightly toasted almond notes. The palate is full-bodied and elegant, with a creamy texture, vibrant acidity, and a long mineral finish.

Perfect with lobster, scallops, grilled white fish, mushroom risotto, roast chicken, and aged soft cheeses. The wine’s richness and freshness allow it to pair beautifully with both seafood and refined meat dishes.

The Langhe is a mountainous region of Piedmont located east of the Tanaro River and south of the capital of Alba. Lange has a long history of winemaking, and many of the wines produced here use traditional, well-established grape varieties such as Arneis and Vermentino for white wines, and Nebbiolo, Dolcetto and Freisa for reds. Since its official launch in November 1994, Langhe DOC has built a significant reputation for innovative viticulture. The Langhe wine region, known as the 'quality triangle', is made up of a unique combination of climate, soil and local varieties that create a rich wine range. Also, one cannot fail to note the passion and obsession of local producers who fully devote their whole life to serving their land.
