Rizzi Langhe Nebbiolo DOCG 2022

SKU: ITPIRIZWIRE375022 Category:
Nebbiolo | Piedmont | Italy | Red Wine | Rizzi | 2022 | 0,75 L | 14,5 %
About
Langhe Nebbiolo is the perfect example of how to understand the king of Piedmontese vines and this wine is a classic yet contemporary version. It comes from noble “raw materials”, the color is bright ruby red, it releases floral, fruity and spicy scents. Body and tannic structure are mouth-wateringly elegant. It’s a versital wine, perfect for an aperitif, lunch or dinner.
Producer
Ernesto Dellapiana founded the winery on an 18th century family estate in 1974. Having absorbed a deep love for the land and viticulture since childhood, in 1973 he made the decision to leave the city (as well as the lucrative paper business) and return to the love of his life - in the Langhe region with difficult mountain slopes. Over the years, he devoted all his efforts to the development and improvement of his enterprise, the quality and quantity of products produced, as a result, turning the winery with 36 hectares of vineyards into one of the largest, interesting and significant wine houses in the Barbaresco region. In recent years, Ernesto's children, daughter Jollet and son Enrico, have taken an active part in the work of the winery.
Tasting notes

On the nose, it reveals aromas of red cherries, violets, and subtle hints of dried herbs. The palate showcases flavors of ripe raspberries, rose petals, and a touch of earthy minerality, with refined tannins and a long, elegant finish. Its vibrant acidity adds freshness and structure, highlighting the wine’s youth and potential for aging.

Pairing

This wine pairs beautifully with traditional Piedmontese dishes such as pasta with truffle or beef braised in Barolo. It also complements roasted meats, aged cheeses, and mushroom-based dishes.

Nebbiolo wines tipically have rich, but elegant tannins, high acidity and unic scent – often characterized as "roses and tar". After a few years of vintage, most Nebbiolo wines begin fading from intensive ruby to a glorious brick orange color and developing flavors of mushroom, moss, leather and black pepper.
The Langhe is a mountainous region of Piedmont located east of the Tanaro River and south of the capital of Alba. Lange has a long history of winemaking, and many of the wines produced here use traditional, well-established grape varieties such as Arneis and Vermentino for white wines, and Nebbiolo, Dolcetto and Freisa for reds. Since its official launch in November 1994, Langhe DOC has built a significant reputation for innovative viticulture. The Langhe wine region, known as the 'quality triangle', is made up of a unique combination of climate, soil and local varieties that create a rich wine range. Also, one cannot fail to note the passion and obsession of local producers who fully devote their whole life to serving their land.
