About
Rizzi Barbaresco DOCG "Rizzi" 2021 is a dry red wine made from Nebbiolo grapes, grown in the Barbaresco region of Piedmont, Italy. This wine is crafted by the Rizzi estate, which is known for its traditional approach and respect for the local terroir. The 2021 vintage showcases the elegance and complexity typical of Barbaresco, combining structure, finesse, and a sense of place.
Producer
Ernesto Dellapiana founded the winery on an 18th century family estate in 1974. Having absorbed a deep love for the land and viticulture since childhood, in 1973 he made the decision to leave the city (as well as the lucrative paper business) and return to the love of his life - in the Langhe region with difficult mountain slopes. Over the years, he devoted all his efforts to the development and improvement of his enterprise, the quality and quantity of products produced, as a result, turning the winery with 36 hectares of vineyards into one of the largest, interesting and significant wine houses in the Barbaresco region. In recent years, Ernesto's children, daughter Jollet and son Enrico, have taken an active part in the work of the winery.
Tasting notes
Rizzi Barbaresco “Rizzi” 2021 opens with aromas of rose petals, dried cherries, and a touch of licorice and leather. On the palate, it is medium- to full-bodied with firm tannins and lively acidity, offering flavors of sour cherry, raspberry, and hints of tobacco and spice. The finish is long, graceful, and layered, highlighting the wine’s aging potential and refined character.
Pairing
This Barbaresco pairs excellently with braised meats, truffle-based dishes, and rich mushroom risottos. It also complements aged cheeses, allowing the wine’s depth and tannic structure to shine.

Nebbiolo
Nebbiolo wines tipically have rich, but elegant tannins, high acidity and unic scent – often characterized as "roses and tar". After a few years of vintage, most Nebbiolo wines begin fading from intensive ruby to a glorious brick orange color and developing flavors of mushroom, moss, leather and black pepper.
Barbaresco
Barbaresco wines are made from the Nebbiolo grape. Compared with the great neighbour Barolo these local wines are softer and ripen faster. These wines are loved for their wonderful combination of tenderness, subtlety and strength, as well as the strong and velvety aftertaste and the aroma of violets.
