Pertois-Lebrun “Derriere le Mont Aigu N16” Extra-Brut Blanc de Blancs
Sommelier recommends
“The nose reveals an intense bouquet of white blossom, citrus, and eucalyptus. On the palate, the wine displays flavours of almond, brioche, and wet stone. The finish is long, precise, and mineral-driven.” — Ronalds Pētersons, Sommelier at Noble Wine6 in stock
Pertois-Lebrun "Derrière le Mont Aigu N16" Extra-Brut Blanc de Blancs is a prestigious 100% Chardonnay Champagne produced from a single vineyard in the Grand Cru village of Chouilly in the Côte des Blancs. The Derrière le Mont Aigu parcel is rooted in the region's famous chalk soils, giving the wine remarkable mineral tension, elegance, and precision. The base wine is fermented with indigenous yeasts, with a portion matured in oak barrels before extended ageing on its lees in bottle, adding depth, texture, and complexity. Bottled with Extra-Brut dosage, the Champagne preserves a remarkably pure expression of its terroir. The designation N16 refers to the base vintage of the cuvée, highlighting the individuality of this limited-production, vineyard-specific Champagne.
The nose reveals aromas of lemon zest, grapefruit, green apple, and white peach, layered with white blossom, chalky minerality, freshly baked brioche, and toasted almonds. On the palate, the Champagne is bone dry, elegant, and vibrant, with a fine, creamy mousse, lively acidity, and exceptional mineral precision. The finish is long, pure, and persistent, with lingering notes of citrus, saline minerality, and delicate nuttiness.
An outstanding pairing for oysters, sea urchin, scallops, lobster, sashimi, ceviche, and fresh goat’s cheese. Its vibrant acidity, chalky minerality, and refined mousse beautifully enhance the natural sweetness of seafood while maintaining remarkable freshness and balance.
