Wine Searcher review
Patrick Javillier “Cuvée des Forgets” Bourgogne Blanc 2024 is a standout example of how expressive a regional Burgundy Chardonnay can be. The grapes are sourced from carefully tended vineyards on the plains below Meursault, where the soils impart freshness and mineral structure. The 2024 vintage offers excellent balance and vibrancy, delivering both approachability and classic Burgundian finesse.
The nose reveals white flowers, ripe apple, and citrus, complemented by subtle hints of butter and toasted nuts. On the palate, it is fresh, balanced, and well-structured, with pronounced minerality, a medium body, and finely integrated acidity. The finish is clean, persistent, and elegantly refreshing.
Perfect with seafood, grilled white fish, creamy chicken dishes, or soft cheeses such as Brie or Comté. The wine’s freshness and minerality enhance delicate flavors, while its gentle texture complements richer, cream-based dishes beautifully.
