Ormae Vinae "MCMXI" Toscana IGP 2021 is a refined dry red wine from Toscana IGP, crafted from carefully selected grapes that reflect Tuscany's rich winemaking heritage and contemporary approach to quality. The Mediterranean climate, sun-drenched hillsides, and mineral-rich soils provide exceptional fruit concentration, freshness, and elegant structure.

Following careful fermentation, the wine is matured in oak barrels, adding depth, complexity, and finely integrated spice notes. The 2021 vintage is distinguished by its excellent balance of fruit intensity, freshness, and ageing potential.

The name ORMÆVINÆ comes from the words 'ORMa' (footsteps), 'ORMai' (by this time), or 'ORMoni' (hormones) + VINo. 'ORMa' represents the belief that the production of great wine in such a historic area as Tuscany is impossible without studying and adhering to the legacy of Tuscan agricultural production. ORMÆVINÆ walks in the footsteps of the generations that lived on and cultivated that blessed land for over 3000 years: from Etruscans, through Romans and Renaissance to nowadays.

The nose reveals aromas of ripe blackberry, black cherry, and plum, layered with violet, Mediterranean herbs, tobacco, dark chocolate, and sweet spice. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied, concentrated, and elegantly structured, with a generous core of dark fruit, vibrant acidity, and fine-grained tannins. The finish is long, harmonious, and expressive, with lingering notes of cocoa, spice, and minerality.

An excellent pairing for grilled beef steak, roast lamb, game dishes, slow-braised beef ribs, truffle risotto, and aged hard cheeses. Its rich structure and elegance beautifully complement bold, refined flavours.

The hilly terrain and warm climate make Tuscany an ideal region for winemaking. It ranks third by the amount DOC and DOCG category wines after Piemonte and Veneto. Currently the most popular variety is the noble Sangiovese - it is extremely thermophilic and successfully reveals its best traits in warm climates. Wines have a lovely structure, velvety tannins and a fruity aroma, the color is rich ruby red, but the most distinguishable flavor notes are cherries, raspberries and spices.
