Newton-Johnson Family Vineyards Chardonnay Walker Bay 2024 is an exceptional 100% Chardonnay crafted from carefully selected vineyards in the Upper Hemel-en-Aarde Valley of Walker Bay. The cool maritime climate, granite and clay soils, and significant diurnal temperature variation produce fruit with remarkable aromatic purity, vibrant freshness, and natural minerality.

The wine is fermented with indigenous yeasts and matured in French oak barrels on its fine lees, developing depth, a creamy texture, and seamlessly integrated oak while preserving the purity of the fruit. The 2024 vintage is distinguished by its balance of concentration, energy, and elegance, showcasing Walker Bay as one of the world's premier regions for Chardonnay.

The nose reveals aromas of lemon zest, white peach, ripe pear, and white blossom, layered with flint, butter, hazelnut, and lightly toasted bread. On the palate, the wine is elegant, concentrated, and multi-layered, with vibrant acidity, a creamy texture, and pronounced minerality. The finish is long, precise, and refined, with lingering notes of citrus, toasted nuts, and a subtle saline minerality.

An excellent pairing for lobster, scallops, grilled turbot or monkfish, roast chicken, veal tenderloin, mushroom risotto, and aged cheeses such as Comté or Gruyère. Its elegance, rich texture, and mineral tension beautifully complement refined seafood and classic cuisine.

Newton-Johnson Vineyards is a family-owned winery founded in 1995 by Dave and Felicity Johnson, and today led by the second generation, Gordon and Bevan Newton Johnson. Located in the Upper Hemel-en-Aarde Valley, the estate benefits from the cooling influence of the Atlantic Ocean, creating ideal conditions for growing Burgundian grape varieties.

Internationally acclaimed for its outstanding Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, Newton-Johnson follows a philosophy of minimal intervention and maximum terroir expression. The estate's wines are celebrated for their elegance, precision, and ageing potential, establishing Newton Johnson as one of South Africa's leading premium wine producers.
