Sommelier recommends
“The nose reveals aromas of ripe blackberry, blueberry, savoury spices, and sweet spices. On the palate, the wine is medium-bodied, with juicy, intense flavours of dried dark berries and dried spices. Wine Searcher review
Muga "Prado Enea" Rioja Gran Reserva 2019 is a dry red wine from Rioja DOCa, Spain, crafted primarily from Tempranillo, complemented by Garnacha, Mazuelo, and Graciano. The grapes are sourced exclusively from high-altitude vineyards in outstanding vintages, followed by extended ageing in oak barrels and bottle before release. One of Rioja's iconic Gran Reservas, it combines remarkable depth, classical elegance, and exceptional ageing potential.
The nose reveals aromas of ripe black cherry, plum, and blackcurrant, layered with notes of cedar, tobacco, leather, vanilla, and sweet spices. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied, elegant, and beautifully layered, with fine-grained tannins, vibrant acidity, and exceptional balance. The long finish is defined by dark fruit, refined oak, and pronounced mineral complexity.
An excellent match for beef tenderloin, roast lamb, game, Iberian pork, truffle dishes, mushroom risotto, and long-aged hard cheeses. Its depth and elegance make it a superb companion to classic Spanish and Mediterranean cuisine.
