Montevertine Toscana IGP 2022

SKU: ITTUMONWIRE275022 Category:
Canaiolo & Colorino & Sangiovese | Toscana | Italy | Red Wine | Montevertine | 2022 | 0,75 L | 13,5 %
About

Montevertine 2022 is a classical Tuscan blend led by Sangiovese, complemented by Colorino and Canaiolo, grown in the high-altitude vineyards of Radda in Chianti. Produced under the Toscana IGP designation, this wine remains faithful to historic Tuscan tradition, privileging indigenous varieties over international trends. The 2022 vintage expresses purity, structure, and vibrant energy — a wine of authenticity that reflects both heritage and precision.

Tasting notes

Brilliant ruby red. The bouquet reveals red cherry, wild berries, dried herbs, violet, and subtle earthy undertones. On the palate, it is refined and structured, with vibrant acidity, polished tannins, and layers of fresh red fruit supported by mineral tension. The finish is long, savory, and beautifully balanced.

Pairing

Excellent with Florentine steak, roasted lamb, pasta with ragù, game dishes, mushroom-based cuisine, and aged Pecorino. A natural partner to traditional Tuscan gastronomy.

95/100 from 2 Critic Reveiws
Montevertine is a legendary winery located in Radda in Chianti, founded in the 1960s by Sergio Manetti. The estate gained international recognition for its commitment to traditional Tuscan varieties, particularly Sangiovese. “Le Pergole Torte” is the estate’s flagship wine and one of the most respected expressions of Sangiovese in Italy.
Canaiolo makes for elegant and juicy red wine with elegant aromatics and gentle tannins. It blends exceptionally well with Sangiovese and it can underline herbaceous flavors found in the blend.
The hilly terrain and warm climate make Tuscany an ideal region for winemaking. It ranks third by the amount DOC and DOCG category wines after Piemonte and Veneto. Currently the most popular variety is the noble Sangiovese - it is extremely thermophilic and successfully reveals its best traits in warm climates. Wines have a lovely structure, velvety tannins and a fruity aroma, the color is rich ruby red, but the most distinguishable flavor notes are cherries, raspberries and spices.
