About
Champagne J.P. Seconde Brut "Tradition" is a dry sparkling wine, elegantly crafted from a blend of Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, and Pinot Meunier grapes, sourced from the rich terroirs of the Champagne region in France. This "Tradition" cuvée embodies the essence of J.P. Seconde's winemaking philosophy, combining the structured depth of Pinot Noir, the finesse of Chardonnay, and the fruitiness of Pinot Meunier to create a harmonious and sophisticated champagne. Representing a cornerstone of their portfolio, this Brut is a celebration of the classic Champagne style, offering a glimpse into the heritage and meticulous care that J.P. Seconde devotes to all its creations.
Producer
Ours is a family-run business located in the village of Mailly Champagne on the north slopes of La Montagne de Reims. The village is classified as Grand Cru and is renowned for the quality of its Pinot Noir grapes and its Blanc de Noirs champagnes. We’ve been making champagne using grapes from our own vineyards since 1975 which means that we manage every step of the wine making process ourselves, always keeping in mind the principle that good wine starts with good grapes.
Tasting notes

On the palate, Champagne J.P. Seconde Brut “Tradition” presents a lively blend of fresh citrus and green apple notes, accented by a subtle minerality and a delicate hint of brioche, testament to its aging on lees. The wine’s fine mousse and balanced acidity culminate in a crisp, clean finish, making it both refreshing and complex.

Pairing

This versatile champagne pairs exquisitely with light starters, such as oysters or delicate canapés, where its acidity and effervescence enhance the flavors and textures of the food. It also makes an excellent companion to sushi and sashimi, offering a refreshing contrast to the richness of the fish and elevating the overall dining experience with its elegance and finesse.

The Champagne region combines specific climate, soil, and topography conditions that form a unique terroir currently used by approx. 15 000 vine-growers and 300 wine houses. The region has 4 sub-regions - Montagne de Reims, Côte des Blancs, Vallée de la Marne, and Côte des Bar. Each provides customers with a different style of sparkling wine. The dominant grapes are Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier which are mainly used in Montagne de Reims and Vallée de la Marne, while Chardonnay shows excellent results in Côte des Blancs. The region is even more appealing because of the so-called "Growe's Champagne" wines, the production of which is overseen by one family from start to finish - they grow and press grapes, make wine, and bottle it in the territory of one wine house. This gives the wine a true charm, aura, and unique flavor.
