Domaine de la Pépière Muscadet 2025 (BIO)

SKU: FRLODLPWIWH175025 Category:
Melon de Bourgogne | Loire | France | White Wine | Domaine de la Pepiere | 2025 | 0,75 L | 11,5 %
About
Domaine de la Pépière Muscadet 2025 (BIO) is a certified organic Melon de Bourgogne that reflects the purity of the Loire Valley and the influence of the Atlantic Ocean. Grown on granite and gneiss soils, it showcases terroir precision and natural balance. Crafted with minimal intervention and often aged on lees (sur lie), the wine gains subtle texture and depth while preserving its signature crispness.
Producer
On the very border of Brittany, in the village of Maisdon-sur-Sèvre, there is the Domaine de la Pépière winery. Mark, who grew up in the village of La Pepierre, created the winery in 1984. The name La Pépierre comes from the French word "pépie" (thirst). Walking over the village, on the slopes where the grapes grow, it is easy to understand the origin of the name. Over the years of development, the winery "Domaine de la Pépière" acquired new sites, closely monitored the quality and age of the vines, as well as the originality of their terroirs.
Tasting notes

The nose offers citrus, green apple, white flowers, and a delicate saline note. On the palate, it is clean and refreshing, with bright acidity, pronounced minerality, and a dry, elegant finish. Light-bodied with excellent tension and clarity.

Pairing

Perfect with oysters, mussels, and shellfish, as the wine’s salinity and acidity enhance the natural flavors of the sea. It also pairs beautifully with light fish dishes, grilled vegetables, and fresh salads, where a clean, refreshing wine complements rather than overwhelms.

Melon de Bourgogne variety tipically has high acidity, but often struggles to develop good concentration of aromas. The best wines have green apple and lime flavors, covered with mineral notes and light salty hints.
Muscadet-Sevre-et-Maine
This region is located on the Left bank almost next to the ocean. The local winemakers are very meticulous and careful, therefore are known for very qualitative wines. They are produced form Melon de Bourgogne grapes that are cultivated near and on the banks of the River Sevres and the River Maine. The fresh, creamy wines with green apple and iodine notes in the aroma are recommended to be consumed after a few years of ageing. A perfect partner for oysters.
Loire is one of the biggest regions in Northern France. This beautiful valley that stretches more than 300 km in length has been the inspiration of poetry and art throughout the ages. The dominant grapes are different in each part of Loire, and this is the only region in France that produces equally good white, red, rose, dessert and sparkling wines.
