Languedoc
Languedoc-Roussillon is a major wine producing region in the south of France formed by two independent areas - the French Languedoc and the Spanish Roussillon. The climate here can be described as Mediterranean, because the winters are cool, but the summers - hot and dry. The region produces different wines but it is most famous for the excellent Carignan, Grenache, Mourvedre, Merlot Cabernet and Sauvignon red table wines.
