Bertrand-Delespierre Extra-Brut “Saignee des Terres Amoureuses” 2015

SKU: FRCHBTDSPCH375015 Category: Tag:
Pinot Noir | Champagne | France | Sparkling Wine | Bertrand-Delespierre | 2015 | 0,75 L | 12 %
About
Bertrand-Delespierre Saignée des Terres Amoureuses 2015 is a dry (Extra Brut) sparkling rosé wine made exclusively from Pinot Noir grapes in the Montagne de Reims region of Champagne, France. It is produced by the grower-producer Bertrand‑Delespierre, and sourced from vineyards in the Premier Cru villages of Chamery, Écueil and Villedommange. The wine is a Rosé de Saignée — crafted from maceration of Pinot Noir, vinified and aged in demi-muid (600 L barrels), with a restrained dosage (typical of Extra Brut), showcasing the house’s focus on purity, terroir expression, and minimal intervention.
Producer
Bertrand-Delespierre is a Premier Cru estate in Montagne de Reims, owned by the married tandem of Didier Bertrand and Chantal Delespierre. The vineyard cultivates its own grapes and exclusively produces the highest quality wine from estate-grown fruit, undergoing a delicate pressing process in small lots using a traditional wooden basket press, while preserving the wine's freshness and aromatics in the further steps. At its core, Bertrand-Delespierre is an artisanal operation, where meticulous care is taken in the vineyards and winery. This care is evident in the exceptional quality of its champagnes.   Situated in the very heart of the Montagne de Reims, between the cities of Reims and Épernay, the vineyards of this estate are spread across the four villages of Chamery, Ecueil, Villedommange, and Montbré, all of which are classified as Premier Cru. The estate comprises approximately 5 ha of Pinot Noir, 3 ha of Pinot Meunier, and 3 ha of Chardonnay, with the vines average age of 25 and some exceptional parcels that have been cultivated for over 50 years.
Tasting notes

On the nose, expect inviting aromas of ripe red and forest berries — think wild strawberry, raspberry and perhaps a hint of darker cherry — layered over subtle mineral and fresh baking-bread undertones. On the palate the wine is lively and expressive, with juicy berry fruit, a fine spice nuance and refreshing acidity that give it an elegant and balanced character. The finish is long and fresh, with a delicate, refined crispness and lingering berry-mineral complexity — making it both approachable now and interesting to enjoy over the next few years.

Pairing

This Champagne rosé pairs beautifully with light seafood dishes such as grilled shrimp, smoked salmon or oysters — its freshness and minerality complement the briny and delicate flavours. It also works well with dishes featuring mild cheeses, creamy appetizers or even subtle Asian cuisine, where its berry fruitiness and fine bubbles add brightness without overpowering the food.

Pinot Noir has very aromatic profile, very fresh acidity and low level of quaite soft tannins. The nature of Pinot Noir wine is its flavors of red berries and cherry (red sour cherries in lighter wines and cooked black cherries in bold examples). This wine matures very exating, developing notes of berry jam, violets, leather, moss and mushrooms.
The Champagne region combines specific climate, soil, and topography conditions that form a unique terroir currently used by approx. 15 000 vine-growers and 300 wine houses. The region has 4 sub-regions - Montagne de Reims, Côte des Blancs, Vallée de la Marne, and Côte des Bar. Each provides customers with a different style of sparkling wine. The dominant grapes are Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier which are mainly used in Montagne de Reims and Vallée de la Marne, while Chardonnay shows excellent results in Côte des Blancs. The region is even more appealing because of the so-called "Growe's Champagne" wines, the production of which is overseen by one family from start to finish - they grow and press grapes, make wine, and bottle it in the territory of one wine house. This gives the wine a true charm, aura, and unique flavor.
