Les Monts Fournois Brut Blanc de Blancs "Côte Vertus" 2010 is a vintage Champagne that exemplifies the elegance and precision of Chardonnay grown in the prized Côte des Blancs subregion. This single-vineyard Blanc de Blancs comes from the renowned village of Vertus, celebrated for its chalk-rich soils and cooler climate, which yield wines of remarkable purity and finesse. The 2010 vintage is a true standout, offering a perfect balance of richness and tension, thanks to a decade of careful aging in the bottle. With its golden hue, fine mousse, and complex aromatics, this cuvée is both an expression of its terroir and a tribute to the art of vintage Champagne production. Tasting notes

The Les Monts Fournois “Côte Vertus” 2010 offers a captivating bouquet of citrus marmalade, white peach, and golden apple, layered with toasted hazelnuts, honeycomb, and subtle floral notes of chamomile. On the palate, the wine is exquisitely textured, with a creamy yet vibrant mousse. Flavors of candied lemon peel, crisp green apple, and ripe apricot are accented by delicate hints of brioche, crushed chalk, and a saline minerality. The 2010 vintage has endowed this Champagne with remarkable depth and complexity, while its brisk acidity keeps it refreshing and focused. The finish is long and precise, with lingering notes of citrus zest and a faint whisper of roasted almonds, inviting you back for another sip.

Pairing

The Les Monts Fournois “Côte Vertus” 2010 pairs beautifully with refined dishes that mirror its complexity and elegance. Its bright acidity and mineral backbone make it a perfect match for butter-poached lobster or crab ravioli with a lemon beurre blanc, where the wine’s citrus notes complement the richness of the seafood and sauce. For a vegetarian option, try it with a wild mushroom risotto, as the wine’s creamy texture and nutty undertones harmonize beautifully with the earthy flavors of the dish. It also excels with aged Comté or Parmesan, whose savory, umami-rich profiles enhance the wine’s layers of brioche and toasted hazelnut. This vintage Blanc de Blancs transforms any meal into an unforgettable culinary experience.

Blanc de Blancs is a white champagne made only from white grapes, mainly Chardonnay. Champagne style can vary from light and crisp wines to creamy and rich examples.
The Champagne region combines specific climate, soil, and topography conditions that form a unique terroir currently used by approx. 15 000 vine-growers and 300 wine houses. The region has 4 sub-regions - Montagne de Reims, Côte des Blancs, Vallée de la Marne, and Côte des Bar. Each provides customers with a different style of sparkling wine. The dominant grapes are Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier which are mainly used in Montagne de Reims and Vallée de la Marne, while Chardonnay shows excellent results in Côte des Blancs. The region is even more appealing because of the so-called "Growe's Champagne" wines, the production of which is overseen by one family from start to finish - they grow and press grapes, make wine, and bottle it in the territory of one wine house. This gives the wine a true charm, aura, and unique flavor.
