Vietti Barolo 2022 Demi is a classic expression of 100% Nebbiolo, sourced from carefully selected vineyards across the Barolo DOCG in Piedmont. Blending fruit from multiple sites allows the wine to capture the appellation's hallmark balance of elegance, structure, complexity, and ageing potential. Fermentation takes place in stainless steel with extended maceration, followed by ageing in large Slavonian oak casks and a proportion of French oak barrels to enhance texture while preserving purity of fruit and vineyard character. The 2022 vintage is defined by freshness, precision, and finely woven tannins, making it approachable in its youth while capable of graceful evolution in bottle.

The nose reveals aromas of ripe cherry, wild berries, rose petals, and violet, layered with liquorice, tobacco, sweet spices, tar, and subtle truffle nuances. On the palate, the wine is concentrated and elegantly structured, supported by vibrant acidity, fine-grained tannins, and pronounced minerality. The finish is long, refined, and persistent, with lingering notes of red fruit, spice, and earthy complexity.

An excellent companion to slow-braised beef, veal cheeks, roast lamb, game, truffle risotto, porcini mushroom dishes, and aged hard cheeses such as Parmigiano Reggiano or Pecorino. Its firm structure, refined tannins, and vibrant acidity complement rich, deeply flavoured dishes beautifully.

Nebbiolo wines tipically have rich, but elegant tannins, high acidity and unic scent – often characterized as "roses and tar". After a few years of vintage, most Nebbiolo wines begin fading from intensive ruby to a glorious brick orange color and developing flavors of mushroom, moss, leather and black pepper.
Barolo wines are the best Nebbiolo can offer - they are luxurious and sophisticated. At young age these wines show uncontrollable temper with sharp and high tannins and almost searing acidity, though already noticeable aromas of violets, red currant and licorice. With age the wine bouquet acquires the wealth and fullness deprived in its youth as the taste becomes more rounded, adding peppery tones and shades of red berries, but the aromas are replaced by flavors of tobacco, leather and tar. Barolo wines are worth saving for important occasions - they are excellent even after 20 years of aging.
