Wine Searcher review
Tyrrell’s Chardonnay Hunter Valley 2023 is a shining example of modern Australian Chardonnay—vibrant, elegant, and finely balanced. Sourced from estate vineyards in the cool pockets of Hunter Valley, this wine expresses clarity of fruit, restrained oak, and refreshing minerality. It is a contemporary interpretation rooted in tradition, offering both immediate pleasure and aging potential.
Pale straw in colour with green hues. The nose reveals white peach, nectarine, and hints of grapefruit zest, layered with subtle toasted cashew and light oak spice. The palate is fresh and medium-bodied, with vibrant acidity, fine texture, and a lingering mineral finish. The oak is beautifully integrated, supporting but never dominating.
Excellent with grilled seafood, roast chicken, creamy pasta dishes, or soft cheeses. Its brightness and structure allow it to cut through richness, while the subtle oak and stone fruit make it versatile across a wide range of dishes.
