At first, the wines of this region were intended for the production of passports, but recently more and more wineries have started to produce quality wines in small quantities instead of table wines. Trebbiano, Chardonnay, Malvasia, Muscar, Viognier and Pinot Gris are the dominant white grapes, while the reds Motepulciano, Cabernet Franc, Gamay, Sangiovese and Shiraz are also common.
