Simon Colin “La Maltroie” Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru 2024
Sommelier recommends
“The nose is complex, with aromas of citrus, honey, white blossom, and toasted bread. On the palate, the wine is round, juicy, and beautifully balanced, with delicate notes of vanilla. The finish is long, persistent, and rounded.” — Ronalds Pētersons, Sommelier at Noble Wine12 in stock
Simon Colin “La Maltroie” Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru 2024 is an outstanding white Burgundy from the prestigious La Maltroie Premier Cru vineyard in Chassagne-Montrachet. Crafted from 100% Chardonnay, it reflects the elegance, depth, and pronounced minerality that define this historic climat. Limestone and clay soils, combined with Burgundy's cool climate, produce a wine of remarkable freshness, precision, and ageing potential. The 2024 vintage offers pure fruit expression, outstanding balance, and remarkable structure. Careful ageing in French oak barrels adds subtle creaminess and complexity while preserving the purity of Chardonnay and the authentic expression of this Premier Cru terroir.
The bouquet reveals lemon zest, white peach, ripe pear, and white flower aromas layered with butter, toasted hazelnut, delicate vanilla, and chalky mineral notes. Full-bodied, creamy, and elegantly structured on the palate, the wine displays vibrant acidity, beautifully integrated oak, and an exceptionally long mineral finish.
Perfect with lobster, scallops, grilled white fish, veal, poultry in creamy sauces, truffle risotto, and aged soft cheeses. Its richness and refined minerality make it an outstanding companion to classic French cuisine.
