Rizzi Langhe Nebbiolo DOCG 2023

SKU: ITPIRIZWIRE375023 Category:
Nebbiolo | Piedmont | Italy | Red Wine | Rizzi | 2023 | 0,75 L | 14 %
About
The Langhe Nebbiolo 2023 from Rizzi is a pure and expressive take on the Nebbiolo grape, showcasing the varietal's elegance, freshness, and aromatic precision. Made from grapes grown in the hills surrounding Treiso in the Langhe, it offers a more approachable, youthful counterpart to Barbaresco, yet retains structure and complexity. Aged in large Slavonian oak casks, it stays true to the traditional Langhe character.
Producer
Ernesto Dellapiana founded the winery on an 18th century family estate in 1974. Having absorbed a deep love for the land and viticulture since childhood, in 1973 he made the decision to leave the city (as well as the lucrative paper business) and return to the love of his life - in the Langhe region with difficult mountain slopes. Over the years, he devoted all his efforts to the development and improvement of his enterprise, the quality and quantity of products produced, as a result, turning the winery with 36 hectares of vineyards into one of the largest, interesting and significant wine houses in the Barbaresco region. In recent years, Ernesto's children, daughter Jollet and son Enrico, have taken an active part in the work of the winery.
Tasting notes

Bright ruby red in color with garnet hues. On the nose, floral notes of rose and violet meet fresh red berries, licorice, and a hint of spice. The palate is elegant and structured, with refined tannins, balanced acidity, and a long, mineral-driven finish. A wine of finesse and charm, already pleasurable young, but with aging potential.

Pairing

Pairs beautifully with pasta with mushroom or truffle sauces, grilled meats, roasted poultry, and aged cheeses. Its brightness and tannic backbone make it a versatile red to elevate both rustic and refined dishes.

Nebbiolo wines tipically have rich, but elegant tannins, high acidity and unic scent – often characterized as "roses and tar". After a few years of vintage, most Nebbiolo wines begin fading from intensive ruby to a glorious brick orange color and developing flavors of mushroom, moss, leather and black pepper.
The Langhe is a mountainous region of Piedmont located east of the Tanaro River and south of the capital of Alba. Lange has a long history of winemaking, and many of the wines produced here use traditional, well-established grape varieties such as Arneis and Vermentino for white wines, and Nebbiolo, Dolcetto and Freisa for reds. Since its official launch in November 1994, Langhe DOC has built a significant reputation for innovative viticulture. The Langhe wine region, known as the 'quality triangle', is made up of a unique combination of climate, soil and local varieties that create a rich wine range. Also, one cannot fail to note the passion and obsession of local producers who fully devote their whole life to serving their land.
