R.Lopez de Heredia Rioja Gran Reserva “Vina Tondonia” Blanco 2004
Sommelier recommends
“The nose reveals aromas of smoke, vanilla, apricot, and sweet spices. On the palate, the wine is elegant, fresh, and juicy, with notes of tobacco. The finish is exceptionally long.” — Ronalds Pētersons, Sommelier at Noble Wine2 in stock
This is a dry Gran Reserva white wine from DO Rioja Alta, made entirely from Viura (Macabeo). Aged for around 10 years in neutral American oak barrels, followed by extended bottle maturation before release. The wine delivers honeyed, nutty and creamy layers, balanced by fresh acidity and a long, elegant, mineral-driven finish. Perfect for ageing further.
A fully mature dry, buttery Rioja Alta white wine, with deep golden hues. The nose offers rich aromas of honey, almonds, beeswax, mushrooms, pollen, with citrus and mineral undertones. On the palate, velvety and dry yet surprisingly vibrant. Long-lasting finish with saline minerality and subtle nuttiness. Elegant and refined.
Bodegas López de Heredia Viña Tondonia, founded in 1877 in Haro (Rioja Alta), is one of Rioja’s most traditional family wineries. Renowned for ultra-long ageing in large American oak vats and extended bottle ageing before release, crafting wines of exceptional complexity and structure.
