About
Francis Orban Brut Réserve Vieilles Vignes is a dry champagne produced in the Champagne region of France, from Pinot Meunier grapes. It comes from old vines in the Vallée de la Marne, where soils of limestone, clay and sand give the wine its distinctive expression. The Champagne is made using traditional method — with base and reserve wines, aged on the lees for at least 24 months — offering a balanced, refined profile typical of a “pure Meunier” cuvée.
Tasting notes

On the nose, this Champagne reveals delicate fruit-forward aromas — think white peach, apricot and hints of ripe yellow fruit, with subtle floral touches that evoke orange blossom. On the palate it is round and supple, with a pleasant minerality, gentle creaminess and a juicy, fresh fruit character that remains lively. The finish is clean yet generous, balancing fruitiness and mineral freshness for a refined, elegant impression.

Pairing

This Champagne pairs very well as an aperitif or with light fish dishes — for example a fillet of white fish — and also complements subtly flavoured white meat or shellfish. Its fresh acidity and balanced fruit-minerality make it a good match for dishes like grilled fish or a delicate seafood entrée.

Pinot Meunier varietal red wine is often lighter in color than Pinot Noir, but its acidity are little bit higher. It can taste of ripe blueberries, candys, sometimes with light smoky hints. Mostly, this grape is used for sparkling wine production.
The Champagne region combines specific climate, soil, and topography conditions that form a unique terroir currently used by approx. 15 000 vine-growers and 300 wine houses. The region has 4 sub-regions - Montagne de Reims, Côte des Blancs, Vallée de la Marne, and Côte des Bar. Each provides customers with a different style of sparkling wine. The dominant grapes are Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier which are mainly used in Montagne de Reims and Vallée de la Marne, while Chardonnay shows excellent results in Côte des Blancs. The region is even more appealing because of the so-called "Growe's Champagne" wines, the production of which is overseen by one family from start to finish - they grow and press grapes, make wine, and bottle it in the territory of one wine house. This gives the wine a true charm, aura, and unique flavor.
