Prieler “Johanneshohe” Blaufrankisch 2023
Sommelier recommends
"Aromātā jūtamas svaigu aveņu, melleņu, piparu un ķiršu notis. Garšā vīns ir intensīvs, sulīgs un augļains. Tanīni ir aktīvi, pēcgarša ir ilga." — Ronalds Pētersons, "Noble Wine" someljē23 in stock
Prieler "Johanneshöhe" Blaufränkisch 2023 is a terroir-driven red wine from Burgenland, Austria. The grapes are grown on limestone and slate soils near Lake Neusiedl, where warm days and cool nights ensure optimal ripeness while preserving the grape's hallmark freshness and vibrant acidity. Made from 100% Blaufränkisch, this wine showcases the variety's classic profile of pure dark fruit, lively acidity, refined tannins, and distinctive minerality. It is matured in large oak casks to preserve fruit purity and vineyard expression, resulting in a balanced, elegant wine with excellent ageing potential.
The nose reveals sour cherry, wild berries, blackcurrant, and plum aromas layered with black pepper, violet, and delicate mineral notes. Dry, juicy, and elegantly structured on the palate, the wine is supported by vibrant acidity, fine silky tannins, and a long, spicy finish with dark fruit and mineral complexity.
An excellent match for grilled beef, lamb, duck, game, mushroom dishes, roasted root vegetables, and aged cheeses. Blaufränkisch’s vibrant acidity and peppery character make it an ideal partner for rich meat dishes and traditional Austrian cuisine.
