Domaine de la Pépière “Château-Thébaud” Muscadet-Sèvre-et-Maine 2022 Magnum is a refined white wine from the Loire Valley, crafted from Melon de Bourgogne grapes in one of Muscadet’s most prestigious cru terroirs. The Château-Thébaud appellation is renowned for its granite and gneiss soils, which bring minerality, structure, and exceptional ageing potential to the wines. The 2022 vintage delivers freshness, precision, and elegant texture. Extended lees ageing adds depth and creaminess while preserving the wine’s pure fruit expression and vibrant energy. The magnum format allows for slower and more harmonious maturation.

On the very border of Brittany, in the village of Maisdon-sur-Sèvre, there is the Domaine de la Pépière winery. Mark, who grew up in the village of La Pepierre, created the winery in 1984. The name La Pépierre comes from the French word "pépie" (thirst). Walking over the village, on the slopes where the grapes grow, it is easy to understand the origin of the name. Over the years of development, the winery "Domaine de la Pépière" acquired new sites, closely monitored the quality and age of the vines, as well as the originality of their terroirs.

The bouquet reveals lemon zest, green apple, white peach, and white flowers layered with chalky minerality, sea salt nuances, and delicate brioche notes. The palate is fresh, concentrated, and elegantly structured, with lively acidity, creamy texture, and a long mineral finish.

Perfect with oysters, seafood platters, grilled white fish, scallops, sashimi, and fresh goat cheese. The wine’s minerality and saline character enhance delicate seafood flavors, while its freshness brings balance and elegance to the pairing.

Melon de Bourgogne variety tipically has high acidity, but often struggles to develop good concentration of aromas. The best wines have green apple and lime flavors, covered with mineral notes and light salty hints.
Muscadet-Sevre-et-Maine
This region is located on the Left bank almost next to the ocean. The local winemakers are very meticulous and careful, therefore are known for very qualitative wines. They are produced form Melon de Bourgogne grapes that are cultivated near and on the banks of the River Sevres and the River Maine. The fresh, creamy wines with green apple and iodine notes in the aroma are recommended to be consumed after a few years of ageing. A perfect partner for oysters.
Loire is one of the biggest regions in Northern France. This beautiful valley that stretches more than 300 km in length has been the inspiration of poetry and art throughout the ages. The dominant grapes are different in each part of Loire, and this is the only region in France that produces equally good white, red, rose, dessert and sparkling wines.
