About
Daniel Chotard Sancerre “Les Cris” 2023 is a striking expression of Sauvignon Blanc from the Loire Valley, embodying the clarity and precision of this renowned appellation. The grapes are sourced from limestone-rich soils in the village of Reigny, lending the wine its signature minerality and refinement. The 2023 vintage delivers a harmonious balance between vibrant acidity and ripe fruit, resulting in a wine that is both refreshing and layered.
Tasting notes
The nose opens with bright citrus, green apple, and freshly cut grass, complemented by subtle chalky and flinty nuances. On the palate, the wine is crisp and energetic, with pronounced minerality, lively acidity, and a long, elegant finish. Light to medium-bodied, it offers excellent tension and freshness throughout.
Pairing
Perfect with seafood, particularly oysters, grilled shrimp, or delicate white fish, as the wine’s acidity and minerality enhance the natural sweetness of the dishes. It also pairs beautifully with goat cheese—a classic Sancerre match—where the wine’s freshness balances the cheese’s creamy texture and tangy profile.
