      About

      This dry Chardonnay Riserva from DO Alto Adige is made from 100% Chardonnay grapes grown in high-altitude, calcareous sandy soils near Kurtatsch. The wine is barrel‑aged (including fine lees stirring), then aged at least six months in bottle before release. Pale gold in color; nose of citrus, peach, floral and waxy notes with oak nuances; on the palate it is creamy and structured with balanced acidity and mineral depth. Serve at 11–13 °C, ideal with poultry, creamy pasta or medium-aged cheeses.

      Tasting notes

      Bright, intense light gold color with glossy sheen. Aromas reveal layered citrus, ripe peach, delicate nutty tones and subtle waxy or honeyed notes, underlined by fine oak and pronounced minerality. On the palate it’s full-bodied and rich, with creamy texture, vibrant acidity and a refined salty-bitter finish. Harmonious and elegant with depth and precision.

      Kellerei Kurtatsch (Cantina Kurtatsch) is a boutique cooperative in South Tyrol, known for expressing local terroir through precise white wines. The “Freienfeld” Riserva Chardonnay is named after the historic Freienfeld manor, whose terroir supports aromatic and concentrated Chardonnay vines. Crafted only in top vintages, it undergoes oak barrel ageing with bâtonnage and extended bottle maturation before release.
