About
Lucien Jacob Crème de Framboise is a sweet raspberry liqueur, crafted from ripe raspberries, sourced from the Burgundy region of France. This liqueur exemplifies the rich fruit flavors and balanced sweetness characteristic of high-quality crème liqueurs, reflecting Lucien Jacob's commitment to traditional methods and natural ingredients. Known for its vibrant color and intense raspberry aroma, Crème de Framboise is a versatile and indulgent beverage.
Producer
The grandfather of the current proprietaire, Jean-Michel Jacob, created this domaine based in the village of Echeveronne in the hills above the villages of Pernand Vergelesses and Aloxe Corton. The estate was subsequently, and aggressively, enlarged by Jean-Michel’s father, Lucien, during the 1960s. Lucien was also politically active and served for many years in the National Assembly.
The domaine originally specialized in growing cassis and framboise in the Hautes Cotes de Beaune and the prosperity occasioned by this type of farming provided the resources to purchase vineyards in the neighboring villages of Savigny Les Beaune and Pernand Vergelesses. Recently, Jean-Michel Jacob has further expanded the family holdings in the Cote de Beaune to include additional vineyard sites in several 1er Cru vineyards in Beaune. The Jacob domaine now owns nearly 15 hectares of vineyards, 7 of which are planted in the Hautes Cotes de Beaune (in and around the village of Echevronne).
Tasting notes
Lucien Jacob Crème de Framboise reveal a lush bouquet of fresh raspberries, with hints of floral and herbal undertones. On the palate, it offers a smooth, velvety texture with a concentrated raspberry flavor, balanced by a natural sweetness and a touch of tartness, leading to a long, fruity finish. This liqueur is celebrated for its depth, intensity, and the pure expression of raspberry fruit.
Lucien Jacob Crème de Framboise pairs beautifully with desserts such as chocolate cake, panna cotta, or vanilla ice cream, where its sweetness and fruitiness enhance the rich flavors. It also complements sparkling wine or champagne, creating a delightful and refreshing Kir Royale cocktail.
