“Villa Blanche Sauvignon” Pays d’OC IGP 2021

Founded in 1995, Calmel & Joseph is a maison de négoce specializing in wines from private wineries in the Languedoc-Roussillon region. Over the years, he has developed a very close relationship with a large number of winegrowers from different appellations. Oenologist Laurent Calmel, convinced of the great potential of this region, works with Jerome Joseph on the processes of vinification, blending and aging of wines to showcase the unique but under-known qualities of Mediterranean terroirs. They strive to produce high quality wines that capture the character of their terroirs and reflect their beliefs and experiences. The winery currently owns 200 hectares of vineyards, forests and uncultivated land, of which 160 hectares are located around the buildings, which is not typical for the Corbières appellation. This is the only terroir in the Corbières appellation to feel the influence of the ocean on the local climate.

Sauvignon Blanc is a white-wine grape and that wines are known for crispy structure, vivid acidity and very aromatic profile. Classic bouquet of Sauvignon Blanc include green apple, gooseberry, white currant and herbla nuances like black currant leaf.

Languedoc-Roussillon is a major wine producing region in the south of France formed by two independent areas - the French Languedoc and the Spanish Roussillon. The climate here can be described as Mediterranean, because the winters are cool, but the summers - hot and dry. The region produces different wines but it is most famous for the excellent Carignan, Grenache, Mourvedre, Merlot Cabernet and Sauvignon red table wines. They are simple, tasty and have a friendly price so anyone could enjoy them in everyday life without expecting a special occasion.
