All products from this vendorThis family manor was established by Bernard Hudelot in 1970 in ancient vineyards used by the Dukes of Burgundy in the 11th-17th centuries. At present, 30 hectares are used for wine growing, 40% for white wine and 60% for red wines. In total, the Château produces more than 120,000 bottles of fine wines each year. The green landscape with ancient trees surrounds the entire property and gives it an idyllic look. Bernard Hudelot founded Villar Fontaine's castle in 1970. In 1984, he named it Domaine de Montmain. Later, in 2000, he acquired the grandmother's property of the Château de Villars Fontaine.
Gamay variety gives fresh, candied aromas and red-berries, it usually delivers little in the way of buquet concentration and body weight, giving very light wines. That said, some well-made examples can be complex, fine structured and deep.

Purchasing Burgundy wines is not easy because there are many details that should be taken into consideration - the class of the vineyard, the assessment of the manufacturer, the age of the vines, the quality of the wine as well as the millesime and, of course, the potential of ageing.
