Champagne, the most elegant of sparkling wines, is synonymous with sophistication. What’s behind the royal drink so associated with celebrations of the ‘good life’? We will whisper in front of you – a whole world and art that can be explored throughout life. In the course of a relaxed conversation, you will gain valuable knowledge about traditions in Champagne, the special climate conditions in which champagne was created and the rules for serving and storing it. You will separate the myths from the facts and find out the answers to the most popular questions asked of the sommelier. We will demonstrate how to taste champagne and tell you what to pay attention to when choosing this drink. The Noble Wine team will be happy to share their carefully researched knowledge with you!
The price of the lecture cycle is 320 EUR per person. The price includes a 2-hour narration by the sommelier, a workbook, up to 5 wine samples at each tasting. Tickets can also be purchased for a separate topic of the lecture of interest, the number of places is limited. These lectures will take place with a glass of sparkling drink in hand!
At the end of the course you will have to take a knowledge test. The winner of the best test score will receive a prize equal to the price of the entire course!
It is also possible to attend only the lecture of interest, the price of one lecture is 85 EUR
LECTURES:
1. 04.04.2023 Cuvee Cepage champagnes
The range of champagnes is so wide because each of the many grape varieties has its own unique character. In this lecture, you will learn how not to get lost in champagne choices and learn about the variety of Champagne grape varieties that can be combined, their distribution, as well as the basic stages of the production process. At this tasting you will have the opportunity to taste a sample from the prestigious house of Krug.
2. 11.04.2023 Blanc de Blanc champagnes
In this wine school lecture, we will discuss what exactly champagne is and how to properly taste it in order to get the maximum pleasure from the wine’s taste and bouquet. We will also find out what terroir is and how the geographical location of the vines and the composition of the soil affect the style of the future drink. You will learn the characteristics of the grapes, as well as the process of making Blanc de Blanc champagne, and we will explore in detail all the events taking place in the vineyard throughout the year. At this tasting you will have the opportunity to taste a sample from the House of Ruinart.
3. 18.04.2023 Blanc de Noir champagnes
There are relatively few red grape varieties in Champagne – in this lecture we will explore the most popular ones used in the production of “white from black” champagne. How exactly is pale champagne made from dark grapes? What is the difference between Blanc de Noir and other styles of Champagne? In the lecture, you will learn the rules for serving, get to know the styles, terminology and types of champagne. At this tasting you will have the opportunity to taste a sample from Jacquesson Ay Veuzelle Terme.
4. 25.04.2023 Rose champagnes
We will exhaustively and excitingly reveal the nuances of pink champagne production. The lecture will cover topics ranging from the history of rosé champagne, production methods, serving, storage, to matching with food. Let’s discuss storage, the best investments and top wines. One of the tasting samples will be Laurent Perrier Rose.
